Paragraph The lawyers have assisted a citizen on Bornholm in a boundary case who had come into conflict with his neighbor about the location of the boundary between two properties. The case was triggered when the neighbor began cutting down trees on the disputed area, which both parties believed they owned.
On behalf of our client, we therefore took steps to conduct a boundary dispute, which was completed in the fall of 2018. The conclusion of the boundary dispute, after hearing both the parties and witnesses, was that our client was successful in that she had obtained title to the area, as both she and the previous owners had together used the area for more than 20 years, as if it were their own, and without objections from the neighbor.
Before we started the case, we had ensured that the client's insurance company would pay the costs of the case via legal aid insurance, and thus the client's costs of standing firm on her rights were limited to her deductible on the insurance.
