Energy label in rental housing

The tenant is entitled to be provided with a valid energy label for the rental property before the tenant moves in. If an energy label has not been prepared, the tenant can have one prepared at the landlord's expense.

The purpose of the energy label is that tenants can get an overview of the expected heating costs even before moving in, so that they can set a realistic budget for the costs of living in the rental property.

The rules do not apply to holiday home rentals, nor do they apply to time-limited rentals of a maximum of 4 weeks.
